Application

Zinc pyridyl thioketone (ZPT) with fine particle size prepared by high technology can effectively prevent precipitation and double its germicidal efficacy. The appearance of emulsion ZPT is beneficial to the application and development of related fields in China. Zinc pyridyl thioketone (ZPT) has strong killing power to fungi and bacteria, can effectively kill the fungi that produce dandruff, and has a good effect on removing dandruff, so it is widely used in shampoo industry. As a bactericide for coatings and plastics, it is also widely used. In addition, ZPT is also widely used as cosmetic preservative, oil agent, pulp, coating and bactericide.

Principle of desquamation:

1. As early as the early 20th century, studies have confirmed that Malassezia is the main cause of excessive dandruff. This common group of fungi grows on human scalp and feeds on sebum. Its abnormal reproduction will cause large pieces of epidermal cells to fall off. Therefore, the policy for the treatment of dandruff is obvious: inhibiting the reproduction of fungi and regulating the secretion of oil. In the long history of the struggle between human beings and those microorganisms who are looking for trouble, many kinds of chemical agents once led the way: in the 1960s, organotin and chlorophenol were highly recommended as antibacterial agents. In the mid-1980s, quaternary ammonium salts came into being, but in recent years, they were replaced by copper and zinc organic salts. ZPT, the scientific name of zinc pyridyl thioketone, belongs to this family.

2. Anti dandruff shampoo uses ZPT ingredients to achieve anti dandruff function. Therefore, some anti dandruff shampoos are committed to keeping more ZPT ingredients on the scalp surface. In addition, ZPT itself is difficult to be washed by water and not absorbed by the skin, so ZPT can stay on the scalp for a long time.
